To Whom and Why Is Hair Transplantation Performed?

The sooner the hair loss starts, the faster the baldness develops. If hair loss occurs after burns and traumas, the surgical intervention is performed for reconstructive purposes.

The causes of hair loss may include poor scalp nutrition, vitamin deficiencies and dandruff. For hair transplantation, patients should have healthy hair on the back and sides of their heads. Other factors such as hair color, hardness, wavy and curved hair also affect the result of the intervention.

How Is Hair Transplant Applied?

FUE and DHI methods are used in hair transplantation in our outpatient clinic. FUE does not require any suture procedure, so the healing process is short and there are not many scars after surgery. It is a short - term method except in very unlikely exceptional cases and takes about 6- 8 hours. FUE method is used while performing DHI procedure. While performing this procedure, the roots are placed in the pencil and added to the hair follicles without opening the canal.

Your feelings after surgery change depending on the size and complexity of the surgical procedure performed. Pain due to tension or surgery can be relieved with painkillers. The use of bandages usually takes 1 day.

You can gently wash your hair two days after surgery. Your stitches are removed between 1 week and 10 days. If you have any complaints such as discharge, itching or redness during this period, you should consult a doctor.

If you have chosen another hair transplantation technique, this may require sutures and there may be bleeding in the transplantation or transplantation areas or your suture line as it increases the blood flow to the scalp after challenging activities, so you should avoid up to 3 weeks of challenging exercises and 10 days of sexual activity.

How Does It Proceed After the Operation?

Incisions usually heal quickly after hair transplantation. During this period, checks are made at regular intervals. In many patients who underwent hair transplantation, it is seen that their transplanted hair has lost about six weeks after the surgery.

This is normal and will grow back 5-6 weeks after loss. Although it is a situation that varies from person to person, the hair usually grows 1-2 cm every month. Each patient is unique, so the treatment method to be applied, post-treatment applications and controls, and the healing process may vary. In order to achieve a more natural appearance, a number of surgical correction attempts may be needed after the incisions have healed.
